"Measure to measure", your love's so much pleasure"........the opening line to Phyllis Hyman's classic "You Know How To Love Me" is arguably one of the most recognizable lyrics from the 70's Disco/Soul era. For those who remember we're sure you'll agree that this was one of the songs that defined her amazing career and hooked you from the opening snare fill.

This was always a fav song of GJs Evan Landes and one he wanted to cover and sink his teeth into for sometime. For this project he enlisted the talent of one of MoHo's favorite 'divas,' Indeya ("Oh Lord," Music's Gotcha Jumpin,'" "Gonna Get By"). As we've come to expect she delivers a 'tour de force' performance and absolutely knocked it out the box! Evan and Indeya set out to stay true to the original, but did take some creative license and put a modern twist on the production and vocal arrangement. There is a tasty vocal mix along with a vocal dub & dubstrumental that are primed and ready for launch!

Ironically Indy had performed the song at a Phyllis Hyman tribute in Detroit years ago when Ms. Hyman was performing in town. As the story goes, Phyllis walked into the venue in the middle of Indeya's performance and in her own inimitable style said "who is this bitch singin' my song" right in front of Indeya. A term of endearment as Indy would put it. She later invited Indeya over to her table and told her "you got it girl, keep doing what you're doing because you are going to have a long & successful career!" Getting this type of approval from such a legend remains one of the most important moments of Indeya's career. In the end both Evan and Indeya hope they made Phyllis proud. Unfortunately Ms. Hyman's life ended way too soon, but her music lives on! If you're not familiar with this song, but love vocals n' music with soul & passion and melodies that stand the test of time, than this is right up your lane! Enjoy.
